ENJOY THE ESTATE WINE
MILLA’S WINE
Milla’s Vineyard Estate is home to a single 5-acre vineyard block in Pokolbin, Hunter Valley, dedicated to cultivating Shiraz (4 acres) and the rare Tannat varietal (1 acre). The Tannat grape, originally from the Madiran region in Southwest France, is relatively uncommon in Australia, but it brings an extraordinary intensity to the wines produced here. Known for its deep, bold red hue - one of the richest among red wine varietals - Tannat offers a unique contribution to the estate's portfolio. At Milla's, a straight Tannat was produced only in 2014 and 2021, highlighting its exclusivity and rarity. In other years, the estate masterfully blends Tannat with Shiraz, enhancing the Shiraz’s vibrant color and adding complexity to the blend. This careful balance creates wines that stand out for their richness, boldness, and depth. The vineyard itself is over 25 years old, rooted in rich red clay loam soils with limestone underneath, providing the perfect foundation for cultivating these robust varietals. The combination of soil, climate, and vineyard age adds depth and character to the wines, making Milla's Vineyard Estate a unique part of the Hunter Valley's wine landscape. Milla's wine is sold in cases of 12 bottles per case, see all vintages available below.
