MILLA’S TANNAT 2011
Tannat is the noble red variety from the region of Madiran in the South West of France. There are currently only a few producers of Tannat in Australia. It has been found that Tannat is very good for promoting health and longevity as Tannat produces the highest levels of procyanidins out of any red varietal. Procyanidins suppress the production of a protein that constricts blood vessels.
This unique wine has a firm tannic structure with a raspberry and dark berry character and a liquorice nose. It is a rich spicy style of wine, well suited to gamy foods, such as venison, perfectly drinkable now with a structure to develop further in bottle over many years.
